The Good Service campaign has become traditional and both the public and businesses look forward to it. For the ninth year already the campaign took place in March - „the Month of Good Service" - and, as always, Riga International Airport team participated in this useful activity.
On 7 March Riga International Airport received a certificate of merit from the leading research agency TNS Latvija as one of the most attractive companies in Latvia among the employees and students in 2012.
In the new summer flight schedule the airlines offer 6 new scheduled and 3 charter flight destinations from Riga International Airport. Overall, flight frequency will increase by 24% compared with the winter season. There will be more flights to such destinations as Helsinki, Stockholm, Tallinn, Moscow, New York, Istanbul, Minsk and others.
In order to raise the VIP service quality to the highest European standards and to contribute to the overall development of Riga Airport, the reconstruction of VIP Service Centre has been commenced.
A new privilege for the RIX Club cardholders! Starting from 5 March 2013, in addition to the standing offer of 5 free visits to the Business Lounge, the RIX Club cardholders now have the opportunity to buy a visit to the Business Lounge at a 50% discount. Payment for the service is accepted at Welcome to Riga Office and at the Business Lounge.
Riga Airport and BalticMiles cooperate to enable any client of the Airport’s long term car parks P2 and P3, who is the member of the loyalty programme BalticMiles, to earn 20 points for every lats spent whereas those clients who have not yet joined the programme, can do so and immediately receive the earned points.
Upon agreement with the airlines Aeroflot and LOT, the flights of these two carriers from now on will be handled at the Airport Ticket Office enabling passengers to buy airline tickets, solve ticket exchange issues and pay for excess baggage, additional baggage and other services.
On 10 January, at the Departures Sector B of Riga Airport Terminal a children’s playground was opened designed as a fairy wood. At the opening event the pupils of form 10 of Janis Rozentāls Secondary Art School depicted the characters of Latvian fairy tales and cartoons on the playground facilities.
In honour of FIA European Rally Championship’s second event - Rally Liepāja-Ventspils (Latvia) scheduled for 1-3 February 2013, the airport in January hosted “Mini Rally Liepāja-Ventspils 2013”, giving the opportunity to those present at the event to experience the rally spirit and, while sitting in the passenger’s seat, to appreciate the skills of the Latvian rally drivers Ivars Caune and Ralfs Sirmačs.
Continuing the tradition of bringing art to Riga International Airport on 7 March, the society Latvijas kultūras projekti (Latvian Culture Projects) in the airport’s Business Lounge and VIP Centre opened two art exhibitions: „Paintings” by the young and promising artist Neonilla Medvedeva and „Lolojums” (”Cherishing”) by the painter Barbara Gaile residing in Paris.
